I DREAM OF ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!

I am daydreaming of a huge waffle cone from Cold Stone Creamery! I am having a hell of a day and I can use a sweet escape. Dishes, laundry, sweeping, mopping, dusting, changing bed linens, and cleaning bathrooms! Trying to keep the kids entertained and content is a chore in itself. Uggghhhh! Forget Calgon, Cold Stone take me away!!!  :)

MORE SENSELESS KILLING

My children and I were talking this morning about how Levi Aron abducted and killed 8 year old Leibby Kletzky. It's such a shame how our children are dying younger and younger as each year rolls by. Parents we must sit down at the family table and discuss outside safety with our children again. I had this discussion with mine this morning. I mainly focused on reaching my 8 year old and my 13 year old. The younger ones have a tendency of not always being where they say they are going. They will go to the destination they are scheduled to be at but then leave there and go to another friend's house without calling and checking in with me first. It really got my 8 year old son's attention being that Leibby was only 8 years old as well. I know one thing, these sick people who are doing all this crazy stuff to innocent children really need JESUS. Pray for our children and the sick people who are out to harm them. Talk to your children and do a refresher on safety outside. They must learn to always be aware of their surroundings and to stay alert at all times. As parents we must stay on our post as well to double check on them and be sure they are where they say they are. I get on the phone and speak with the mother of that child they are having a play date with to be sure she was expecting my child. We all know sometimes kids make their own plans and the parents are left in the dark until the child arrives at their front door. Let your child know the importance of always being honest about where he/or she is going and to check in with you if anything changes. Have a wonderful day!

God bless! :)

TALK TO THEM BEFORE IT'S TO LATE!

I remember when mothers would have to worry about the young men trying to get their daughters in bed, but not anymore! These days it's the guys that have to beware. It's amazing and a shame of how some of our young girls are just sex crazed these days. They don't have a high self-worth and just giving themselves away to all that will have them. There are some young men out there, believe it or not, who want to wait before jumping into bed before marriage. I know some even wait until they are at least a senior, but these young people today are not waiting! Children as young as 12/13 yrs of age are already experiencing and engaging in sexual experiences. I'm sure this isn't new, and you have heard this before, but as parents we have to step it up a bit. Educate our children on the consequences of kids engaging in adult activities which they are not ready for. I'm not saying just the famous, don't have sex or I'll kill you speech either! Although, that has worked in the past. Lol  Seriously though, our children need to know and understand that a few moments of pleasure will and can lead to STD's, unwanted pregnancies, abortion, etc.. They also need to know about the emotional side effects as well. Talk to our children about the peer pressures that will face in this life as a teen and how to deal with it. Letting the young girls know that sleeping around doesn't make you popular, it makes you promiscuous and talked about in a negative way! When these young girls come across a nice young man who treats them with respect, and not trying to get them in bed they get rid of them. Instead of being taken to a movie and dinner, they want to get taking to a hotel. LOVE has been taking out the picture completely, it's all about the LUST! They think a boy is handsome and popular so they sleep with him. A boy is dating a girl she doesn't like, she tries to seduce him away from her and rejoices when she does. This is a terrible thing. Mothers, we really need to pray for our children because we are all they have. The world don't care about our kids, but it will destroy them if we don't do something. Our children are the future, and we want them to have a bright one with many opportunities. Make an appointment at the family table with your kids, it's time to have that talk again. Remind them about not having sex, not doing and/or selling drugs, not joining street gangs, and not falling to peer pressure. This isn't a one time deal, this has to be done a few times a year. Pray and ask God to give you the words to say to reach your child/children. Ask God to give you that discernment to hear and see what your child/children may need. God bless!!!

OMG...I WEIGH HOW MUCH?

The battle of the bulge still rages on in America. Weight gain seems to be something many of us just cannot seem to get away from. As a wife and mother of five children, my exercise time is very limited and my energy levels even more. The baby's sleeping schedule has been all over the place lately, which gives me 4 to 5 sleep hours a day to work with. I'm exhausted about time I lay down and even more so when I rise up again. Really trying to get the baby's sleeping pattern back on track, so I can get my much needed rest. I have dark circles under my eyes that can be used as coasters! I am really trying to change my eating habits for the better and taking vitamins daily. I started back exercising hoping to stimulate more energy and strength throughout my day. Guzzling more water and orange juice, leaving the soda alone. I really need to shed some pounds so I can be around to see my children blossom into great men and a lady. We, as parents always talk about how much we love our kids and would do anything for them. We would give our right arm, even our very lives for them. Well, I'm ready to seriously start living a healthier life for myself and for my kids sake. They need and deserve healthy parents, and I deserve to live long enough to see them get out of my house and out on their own. (giggling) For anyone who is struggling with their weight, I pray God gives you the strength to triumph. Best of luck to you in your journey to a healthier you! God bless!

2011~ THE YEAR OF CHANGE

Everyone is probably setting their goals and listing their wants and needs for the upcoming new year. Being that the economy isn't back at it's best as of yet, we must plan wisely. Life on a budget can be quite annoying, but not impossible. Companies aren't the only ones doing cut backs and layoffs. We must learn to cut back on things that aren't a necessity. Going to get your nails and hair done every week is really not a need, it's a luxury. Maybe cut back to twice a month and try to get something done that doesn't cost to much. When you get a perm at the salon, they charge you about $50 to $60. Go to your local beauty supply store and purchase a perm and do it yourself. A hair relaxer runs about $6 to $10 at most. Look how much money you just saved by doing it yourself. Little changes like that make a BIG difference in your financial department. If you buy your lunch for work everyday from a fast food establishment, try brown bagging it sometimes. It will help your health and your wealth. There are even tricks for your treats! For instance, I am a true ice cream lover. I enjoy going out for ice cream at least twice a week. I enjoy Cold Stone Creamery immensely and I always look forward to my next visit before I even leave the store. (giggle) Great ice cream with a great friend is always a treat. Being that it would cost anywhere between $6 to $10 per visit, then you add on gas money there and back, things can get costly very quickly. In order to still have my ice cream treat without feeling deprived, I sometimes purchase ice cream at the grocery store. I can grab a gallon of slow churned vanilla ice cream and a pack of Oreo cookies from Shop Rite. The same price as my Cold Stone treat but not only can I have it that night, I can have it for a few nights. Plus, you may get a blessing and find that your particular ice cream and the Oreos may even be on sale, even better! Call over a friend and enjoy! :) Just learn to be more mindful of our spending habits in 2011. Take your savings and put it towards something really great. Maybe you have your eye on a certain new purse, a piece of jewelry, a spa day, or even a plane ticket to visit a friend. In any event, I wish you all the best in reaching your goals and dreams this upcoming new year! God bless!
